Family Law
I have handled a broad range of family law cases during my career. I have also gone through my own divorce roughly 10 years ago, and therefore have personal experience upon which to draw. I approach family cases first with reference to the impact on the children. I am acutely aware of the cost of litigation, and I factor that into all of my family law-related guidance. For divorcing parties with moderate assets, I recommend consideration of pro se (lawyerless) representation. Divorcing parties with significant family net worth and/or family income, are the most likely to benefit from legal representation. I rarely handle family cases where custody (parental rights and responsibilities) or visitation (parent-child contact) are significant issues. As is the case in all aspects of my practice, I encourage use of alternative dispute resolution (usually mediation) where appropriate.
